Why on earth would a clutch perch include those?tlbranth wrote:I'm talking about hi/low beam & turn signals

Re: eBay master cylinder rebuild kits
Usually only the clutch pull gear switch is in the perch. Those other switches are on the left switch cover. I think you are confusing a clutch perch with the left switch cover.

Re: eBay master cylinder rebuild kits
My 1976 has switches ( headlight, hi-lo beams, turn signals, and horn) and clutch perch built in one assembly. My 1978 and 1979 have seperate clutch perches and switch assemblies.

Re: eBay master cylinder rebuild kits
+1 On the above!
There was a model design change over that the early Wings did around 1976 from the combination design that included the whole electrical switching/clutch perch to a separate design that was supposed to be superior to the all in one design. WingOvations covers it in his technical section on his site that the separately designed clutch perch was supposed to work better with the clutch cable pull.
My 1976 has the redesigned dual set up; yet when I bought a 1976 set of bars with switches for spare parts they were the combination design.

Re: eBay master cylinder rebuild kits
The company that manufactures the kits for K&L also supplies the manufacturers directly. The kits are high quality - I've been using and selling them for years.flyin900 wrote:Not sure what brand of kit you are referencing here. I have used the K&L aftermarket rebuild kits a number of times on various different bikes and had no problem with the quality. I believe they are a Japanese branded manufacturer.

Re: eBay master cylinder rebuild kits
Willie & Flyin - thanks for the info on the design change. If I use the Chinesium Fluoride lever set, I'll look for a used '77 switch assembly. Apparently the controls work well but switches? Not so sure.

Re: eBay master cylinder rebuild kits
Would this master cylinder with the16mm bore be considered a performance up grade on my 1981 GL1100?
