Yea, I wear a size 7 3E-4E depending on boot...so I know the feeling of the swim fins!

I would probably agree with you if I lived a bit further North...but being I am here, I try to support stuff made here when I can. I must say that protective toes and I don't seem to get along...they always seem to sit funny on my toes.

I know when its time for new work boots when I start stubbing my toes on the back edges of the steel caps

Those of us that have " unique" sized feet are limited as to selection. I'm size 13 and have a narrow foot and it's a nightmare finding anything that fits besides running shoes or boots that are way to wide. I use runners most of the year.

I have to admit I sort of chuckled when I read your post...thought to myself, those must be some good set of ski's!

I do agree, when you are on one side of the spectrum or the other, things get tough to get. I sort of kid around when shopping for winter boots...I can go into the kids dept, and get a set of boots that light up when you walk, toss em on, and walk around the store.

Back to riding boots...Took a decent look at Carolina boots, and Chippewa boots. Chip seems to make one that caught my interest. I haven't heard back from Bates yet, and decided the Daytona's were too expensive and not enough to offer for me, so we are still on the look. :-?

That was a thought of mine, so I figured I'd give it more time to hear from them before I made a choice. I figure race season is starting up, and they probably hit a lot of the bigger ones.

Heard back from Bates Custom Leathers, and they could add a little bit of height, but it still wouldn't be as much as I currently have.

So, I have been looking at Chippewa made boots, and decided on the Rally boot...seems to have what I want, and can get it in a decent size, 7EE is as close as I can get. It has good reviews, and sounds well made. Ended up getting them from Amazon...could find them cheaper, but not in my size, so we paid the going rate.

We will see how they turn out, hopefully they work out. :)

I have a pair. No breaking in there so soft right out of the box.
I would buy another pair.

Just got them the other day. The double E is pretty wide in the toe region (more along the lines of a 3 or 4 E), but I find getting them on is a huge pain. Seems the hole to get ankle through is a tad small. Once I get them on they seem to feel pretty good for the few minutes I have had them on. Need to walk around in them a little to stretch out the tight spots. :)

My boots are from the Army surplus. They are full leather with Vibram soles. The liners keep my feet dry and they are comfy to wear all day.

Comfortable to wear all day....And to walk in....is the secret. and safety of course. Seems like a hard combo to find, which has alluded me for the last 50 years

Yep, that is the key...we'll see how these new ones do. I can walk a long ways in my prev. boot, but there wasn't much in the way of protection.
