Well it's not a Goldwing but it's a Honda. CB350 with attached sidecar and I heard it run. Just got it home and haven't even unloaded it yet.

Cool bike, I've never seen a 350 with a sidecar. I'm in the process of fixing up a 71 cb350 as a winter project.

I agree that is a lot of car. I'm not planning on riding it out of town. If I really want to, I could adapt the car to another bike like my KZ1100 or GS750. But for now I'm just going to enjoy the cool factor of a 350 with a sidecar....

I'm assuming yours is a CL which as far as I know is the same as a CB except for the exhaust, mine has a 2 into 2 but it runs along the bottom one on each side. I'm not restoring mine in the truest sense of the word but more of a restomod, the only thing I'm changing is replacing the triples trees and forks from a cb360 with front discs instead of drum. I already pulled the engine and getting ready to strip the rest of the bike down to it's frame so everything is going to get polished, powder coated or painted and by the time I'm done have more money in it than it's worth  . I'm just trying to make a sharp looking first bike for my wife and I think it would look good cruising along side my cb750.

My oldest son actually had a 73 cb350 twin as his first bike years ago and even though it had one cyl much lower in compression than the other it still ran strong for its size and was fun to ride.

This is the 4th CB/CL350 that I've owned. These are amazing little bikes and have a huge following. I think a lot of folks bought a 350 as their first bike. My first 350 was actually my 5th bike. I rode that thing all over Florida when I lived there. Then my second one I bought from a neighbor who couldn't get it running. Took me about 10 minutes to set the points and timing and rode that one for years. Then I started raising children and that was my last motorcycle until about 2006 when I bought a GS650 followed closely by a GL1200, then GL1800 and now this one is about my 24th bike that I've owned.

I'm just on my way out to the garage to start evaluating and revive. A quick once over last night showed me a few little problems but since I did hear it run I know at least I've got a runner. Battery is dead as a hammer and when I first saw the bike it had the ignition switch in the run position. No telling how long it had been like that. Probably for months. That battery is probably toast.

Ok wish me luck and if anyone is interested, I'm sure I'll take plenty of pics and as you all know I love to talk about what I'm doing in the garage, so I'm sure I'll make more posts.

Nice find and the CL's were a little rarer up here than the CB versions and that exhaust still looks pretty solid too. As you noted I had a CB 350 brand new in 1968 and it was one of my first learner bikes that I actually rode everywhere. You may already know this to check the rubber diaphragms in the carbs for any deteration of the rubber, as holes will cause a really lean condition.

Side car is pretty unique too and I have never seen one on a small cc bike such as the 350.
Current Bikes:

1966 CL77 - Honda 305cc - Dual purpose - "Gentleman's Scrambler" was a period moniker.
1967 CL175K0 - Low production number with #802 engine serial- winter 2019/2020 full restoration.
1972 CB350F - Baby Four with low mileage - Cosmetic refresh to the next level 2021/2022.
1978 CB550K - Very original bike with only 7499 Km. from new - light cleanup and refresh done.
1983 CB1100F - Canadian model - DOHC Supersport in pristine low kilometre condition from new.
1984 GL1200 - Standard model in showroom condition - two owner bike from new.
1984 CX650E - Restored summer 2017 - a rare Eurosport model - excellent one owner bike.

My 71 was a non runner mainly because previous owners should've stuck to their day jobs. Engine has excellent compression in both cyls but someone butchered the coils, one of the carbs was severely corroded on the inside and wiring harness is butchered from a PO trying to get the charging sys to work and entire air filter assembly was gone. A friend of mine saved the day by coming up with a couple usable coils as well as the correct carb to replaced the corroded one then spent a whole day giving it the TLC it desperately needed just so I could hear it run before I started taking it apart and fortunately the engine sounded good, it's just everything else that's boogerd up. I'm not sure yet how I'll address the charging sys, it's rectifier is still there but original voltage reg is long gone so I'm not sure whether I'll just upgrade to a more modern voltage reg/rec or go all out and get a new stator and reg/rec from Ricks Stators, it depends on how the stator that's in it tests out. New ign coils will be added and maybe an electronic ign too and I just nabbed all the air filter components I need from ebay the other night. So as you can see I don't shy away from a challenge but costs do add up fast.

Here's what mine looked like a few days ago before I pulled the engine and swingarm.

So far all I've found wrong is the petcock 4 hole washer is leaking and I can't get the screws out of the throttle housing to lube the throttle cable. I will also need a new chain and sprockets, these are pretty worn. Of course new tires and tubes but so far that's about it. Bike is cleaning up nicely. I'll probably put a battery in it tomorrow and check how it runs and the charging system. Bike only has 5k miles so I'm betting the brakes are in good shape. I lubed the clutch and front brake cable today. Checking carb sync on a CL350 is a bit of a challenge but I did hear the bike run and idle so it can't be too far off.

I could go on about what needs to be done but basically it's routine maintenance stuff. Cam chain tension, valve lash and ignition timing is an absolute MUST on these old 350's and must be done in that order.

I'll post more pics as I do the work.

Yeah I hear ya on syncing the carbs on the 350. If you have an effective procedure for doing it let me know.
