Re: Motus
Looks like America copying Japan. CTX without the plastic.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: Motus
I love that bike, being sold by a BMW dealer here in SoCal so I've actually seen it in person. That motor is a 4 cyclinder pushrod motor, basically half of an American V8, and sounds like it too. Nothing like the Honda CTX except for the V configuation. Also chain instead of driveshaft. That motor is so potent that it is being sold as a crate engine and being installed in Polaris RZR's. Search Motus on youtube and you'll see what that motor can do.
Hate the price though. If they could get the cost closer to BMW's, Indian's or Harley's, I'd seriously consider it.

We had one show up for Sunday coffee, biker church, here in Grand Rapids MI last November 6th, piloted by the "creator". Great things happen here on a regular basis.

Re: Motus
I'm probably way behind the curve, but is a pushrod engine thought to be better than OHC? I noticed the Chinese bikes here in the Philippines are pushrod engines. The one I looked at today, helped my nephew buy, has a 200 cc engine but a 10k redline. I didn't think pushrods would take the high rpm?

Re: Motus
I'd have one in a hot second if I could afford it. Yes the price is high, but if you consider everything that went into one, its a miracle they are able to sell them for less than $100,000.

Re: Motus
Pushrod engines have come a long way, and have redlines higher than they used to, but generally don't rev as high as an OHC motor. Their strength is in the torque they make down low in the rev range, and the Motus makes gobs of torque. But it still has 180 horsepower on top, so its no slouch there at all. Pushrod motors are more compact as well, which works well for this engine configuration in a motorcycle.ericheath wrote:I'm probably way behind the curve, but is a pushrod engine thought to be better than OHC?
