I like the seat.

trunk is old school Samsonite, we went to Hot Springs last week, I just use em on both bikes when we go on a trip. Comes off with a twist of a key.......The trunk is not so ugly when both bikes are together, then it is unusual...........

Ell brackets screwed to seat and attached to frame. Had to grind off part of pan, and cut off side that hangs down. I also raise back of tank shelter. Apply heat to front of seat pan to open up front of seat to obtain correct bend to lay flat on back of enclosure.

Good job dkl, I understand those mustang seats are very comfortable. Must be cause I see, them on every cruiser. Thanks for tutorial on how to mount seat. I knew it could be done but had not seen the dirty details.

No I raise the back of enclosure on all my Old Wings, I like the slope of the seat that does not throw you forward, I do it with stock seat also. Imperceptable to the eye when it is all together.

I did something really similar with the seat off an 1800vtx (I think) that my friend took off his bike. When you mount them like that, they are dang sturdy.

That's got to be more comfortable than the stock seat for sure. I think it looks
great. Love that back rest! And the wife's got one too with the luggage on.
It also looks like you welded up some late model front foot steps on your
engine guards. Did you instal those? If so could you elaborate, thanks dave

Those are driver boards for a GL1100.....Just have to be patient and some will come across e-bay usually on a junk crash bar, just bought a crash bar with one foot rest for $39 including shipping......I am changing bike to these crash bars....I plan on rigging forward controls to this bike.....Key word is Planning.....
