Re: Winter Homework build
Thanks you guys, but I got some from a friend. I was helping him bash in the sides of his cb750 tank
. The Wing is running great now. I installed the Dyna coils with little hassle, but did have to cut the air box snorkel down a tad. I just need a few more things to finish it (and make it street legal).

Re: Winter Homework build
ok, so its been a while, but thats because I have been out enjoying the great weather and riding my Wing. I got a new speedo to make up for the horribly cheap bike computer that was broken when it arrived. its mounted low and therefore i had to drill a hole in the headlight to route the cable, but it really cleans up the look. I drilled the fork stops and put in bolts so that I could lower the bars and make riding more comfortable. I plan on putting sportster mufflers on it eventually when I can find them for cheap at a swap meet or something. I am also toying with the idea of shortening the stock rear fender. I want a shorty, but I am apprehensive about cutting up the stock one because then I won't be able to got back to it if I need to. I like it mocked it up, but I'm also not sure if this will keep mud off my back. This is supposed to be my long distance rider, but I want it to look good too. My Savage's fender is about that long and I still get sprayed, but the wing is a longer bike.
Anybody have any experience or suggestions?

Re: Winter Homework build
so I went with a slightly longer version of the fender. Came out about right.
I also had a minor collision, and as a result am looking for a timing belt cover. $20 on ebay ain't bad.

Re: Winter Homework build
That timing cover is just a stone shield, a little JB on the back side will fix it.

This thing turned out great! I'm doing up mine too, it's just taking me a little while. I really like the rear fender and tail lite. I'm not sure what to do with mine yet???

Re: Winter Homework build
Thanks guys, I have some updated pics with my new smaller exhaust that I will have to post later.
55mphx4 - I like a lot of what you have going on, especially the pipes, and those mirrors stems look extra special. What kind of rear shocks do you have, and do they lower it?
Here's my post on bobbing the fender: http://ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=39798. I like that my taillight is LED and integrates the turn signals, but it is cheap plastic and not very bright in daylight.

Re: Winter Homework build
Hey, the shocks are 11'' shocks from a older cb750 and they lower it enough to where I had to cut the kickstand. (I iowered the front too) The pipes were made by Billy Barrett of Garretson sd and they are loud but I like them. The mirrors are kind of an expirment and are basically useless for see in them but I like the way they look. I really like the ways yours is turning out-

Re: Winter Homework build
Haha sometimes we get carried away with form over function. I didn't think about having to cut the kick stand, as my front is already lowered...
So here is a pic of how the bike is now, and probably how it will stay. The pipes are some old harley after market; loud, light, and only $20. Coupled with the 1100 carbs, the extra flow gives it a little noticeable power boost. I still need to tune it and adjust the points gap because I get gas mileage in the low 30s/upper 20s city
. Also, the gas tank reserve doesn't work, I think the intake must be clogged. Whatever, I still ride this thing regularly in 30° weather while I patch the rust holes in my e30 bmw for winter

I'm going to electronic ignition in the spring. My daily rider (weather permitting) is a 1993 Ducati 750 ss. I like the older stuff too. Your gl looks great. If it was mine I wouldn't change a thing
