Just since 4 o'clock I got carbs adjusted and put on, starter put on, then engine installed. Still gotta hook up radiator, fuel line, exhaust and throttle. Hoping to ride it this weekend!

Had engine cranked and idling! Bowls started running over. :( Taking em off and readjusting. Hopefully won't be long now!

Running is good! action1 action1 action1 Overflowing bowls is bad! lolol lolol lolol Are the carbs from your old engine, or a different set? Sounds like they might need a good cleaning, especially if they sat with fuel in them. One step at a time...

Track T, the carbs came from my damaged engine. I had already cleaned them. Thought I had em adjusted. For me it seems carbs are trial and error.

They definitely are! And sitting for only a few months can easily gum up stuff.

Well i have it running and idling. Not idling perfect tho. Got it up to temperature. Temp gauge didn't move. That scared me. It seems the longer it runs the worse it runs.

Plug chop actually is more than I meant. But pull your plugs to see what they look like. If you google plug chop chart, you'll get a better definition with colour pics and how to read them. They can tell you a great deal about your running issues. In the old days, it's what mechanics used, before computers and O2 sensors.

If it gets worse as it runs, it's usually too rich and slowly blackens the plugs so it won't run. Pulling the plugs when it's at it's worse will tell you. Pay attention to which plugs are black or which are tan and it will tell you which carb(s) need the work.

You may have leaky float valves or maladjusted float settings. Bike carbs are surprisingly finicky about being juuuuust right.
