Here is a picture of how the GL1200 EFI setup works. This is on the EFI motors, not the carbed. However, I bought mine on ebay for only a few bucks.

They bolt right on with a small tab that you need to cut off the top of the motor (it's only for lifting and wasn't on the fuel injected models)

Toehead is right...that's exactly what I did to mine. I drilled & taped both housings using 1/8" pipe thread
fittings. (I didn't know 1200's had this). I also plugged the original bypass port (in the water pump housing).
This forced all the coolant through my intake heater during warm up.

Fuzzy head is telling me it was only 1200 efi models which had this. One of mine has this (efi) the other does not.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.
