front fender ideas

#1

Post by Blue avenger »

Tried a search first, Hope this is not one of those every other week questions. Have a 76 GL1000 with the factory fender on the front. Would like to have something different, paintable, without the lower brace running up to the forks. Apartment parking lot shop so I need to keep it simple.
Shut up voices or I will poke you with a Qtip again.

Looked throught sticky in custom, nothing of help there. The other would be very time consuming and likley not give what I need as it is not factory or intended factory use for my bike. Not a waste of time though, I did find other usful things there.
Thanks for the info.

I am prety sure an 1100 front mudguard will fit your front forks. These do not have the stay you mention.

a fender from an 1100 will fit, you might also try kw-enterprises (he is listed on the left bottom of the first page. he sells two different fiberglass fenders. I have a REALLY great steel fender from drag specialties on my '78 (it is the bike on the "cover" of my album) , but I have never seen them since I bought mine in '79 (and, sorry, it is not for sale). There used to be fiberglass fenders also available for the 1000's (looked like my steel one but plastic) on RARE occasion I have seen them on ebay, but probably as rare as hens teeth.
