76 motor in a 79 bike?

76 motor in a 79 bike?
I know all the smartest GL folks are on here. So....will a 76 motor fit in a 79 frame without alterations?

Yes. A 1976 GL1000 engine will mount into a 1979 GL1000 frame without requiring any alterations.

Yep! Running a 77 in my 79 frame. Engine wiring harness is a bit different. Easiest is to try and use the 79 engine harness if you have it to interface with the main harness. Otherwise it is plug and play.

The '76 headers will probably be needed. I tried '78/79 headers on my '75 transplanted to '78 frame and they did not fit.
