When we rebuilt the M/C on Liam's 1200 a couple years ago we struggled mightily with the rear brake. Would not bleed would not release. Several beers and many disassembles into the process our "Supervisor" mentioned that the spring of the rebuild kit and the OE spring were not the same length. That was the problem. The shorter spring of the rebuild kit was not pushing the plunger clear of the spooge hole when the brake was released. So it would build pressure but not release it.

Many forget the need for much supervision during brake work. 3 Supers for each wrencher is the correct ratio.

Lol, that must be an insider between you guys.
I did have supervision by my machine shop teacher who noticed the cocking marks on the pistons and calibrated the micrometer.
I will definitely get back with brake crafters since the pistons were way under.
Unfortunately I threw the old rear MC springs in a box together with the old front MC hardware so I can't tell for sure which one is the one.
Went for a 20 mile ride today with normal use of the rear brake and stopped a few times to check the rotor. It was warm to the touch sometimes and warmer to hot arriving home.
I could touch it bare hands for no more than three seconds.
I don't really know how warm rotors usually get.

I am using DOT 3 brake fluid. Had to clean up a lot of cooked up fluid crud after my first ride.
