How to disconnect rear shock low air pressure red light on dash
Hi guys,
Santa is bringing me Progressive 412s for my 1980 GL1100.
How do I permanently disconnect the low air pressure electricals so that the light doesn't come on?
I am not electrically inclined -- any simple fix (apart from black tape on meter face)?
Also, there is a flat washer on the stem of one of the 412 shocks which seems loose -- is that normal?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Dan

thanks -- saw somewhere I can try grounding the wire near the rear master cylinder, will try that -- else will go with the bulb approach.

I didn't do anything to my bulb as it went out after the bike started. I thought it was strange that it did but took it as a win. I recently changed the bulbs to led ones and now it stays on. lol
I'm just going to remove the bulb.

Yep, wire by rear master, ground it out, light stays off. Mine has been off since 2001.

Re: How to disconnect rear shock low air pressure red light on dash
I run the progressive 12 series in the rear and progressive springs in the forks. Shock Preloaded in the middle notch. Riding solo or two up and fully loaded no problem
The stock air shocks would bottom just riding two up no gear even with 90 pounds of air pressure in them. Switch to the progressives and never look back.
I’d like to find a tach that doesn’t have the warning light in one of these days. I plan on eliminating the air fittings on the forks at some point too.

Re: How to disconnect rear shock low air pressure red light on dash
Thanks @5speed and @DUGG, looking forward to installing and riding with mine.
I did upgrade the front forks to progressive springs couple of years ago, definitely made a positive difference.
Have a good one.
