I wish I had seen that when it was posted. I started experiencing a similar issue on July of the same year but nobody had any suggestions that worked. In September (not long before Maury posted his solution) I I came back to that thread to say that I had learned that I could "fix" the issue temporarily by pushing on an adjuster screw. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60859&p=672149&hili ... ot#p672149
The issue has persisted after replacing the engine so I was pretty sure it was a carb linkage but I went over then several times and couldn't find anything and concluded that it was just because they were old and worn. I have bookmarked Maury's thread so I can try Pete's solution when I eventually get Mr.H out of storage.
I added Maury's post to ShopTalk under the Carb sync section and called it Mysterious Honda High Idle Problem. Nice to have it captured. Thank you Cliff for digging it up again. (edit by Fred on Cinco DeMayo 2023)

Me too. If it is the same thing mine does I wouldn't call it "dancing". It idles normally when cool and then increases (almost as if the choke's high idle was engaged) when hot.
