Does anyone know which years coils will fit into a 1976 gl1000 and also will a cb750 coil set work?

There are about three things to keep in mind with coils. The first is the resistance, or the Ohms. Most Honda and Jap bikes run on 3 Ohm coils, but the CB750 and CB900 from 79-83 used 2.2 Ohm coils. Bottom line is to check the numbers out.
The next thing is if it's built for CDI or not.
The last thing is the number of towers the coils has.

I am not sure about the 750 coils, but the GL1100 coils will work OK. You have to short across the ballast resistor though, as the GL1000 coils are 9 volt, the 1100 coils 12 volt.

They say WHY?, I say why not.
If God had intended motor cycles to be standard, he would'nt have given us the hacksaw.
