Uhoh. Left over part from front wheel rebuild...

#1

Post by zavikan »

Pulled apart front wheel assembly and replaced rotors. Cleaned up stuff and polished the speedo drive.

Put it all together and have been riding it. No issues.

Found a super thin spring steel like washer approx 1" inside diameter, 1 1/8 outside. In the grass outside my basement access. Worked on the wheel in this area.

This either came from the wheel, or my John Deere......

Yeup seems like I recall a thin spacer in there. Might be best to go to one of the online parts places to see if you can see it there.

Sorry for laughing, but that happens to me so often that I have little container's of parts that were left over...apparently non-essential..I still have stuff from early VW's that may be rare, since I have no idea what they are...

Mother Hondas bible doesn't show a spring washer in the manual. That is not the final word on the subject though. The webmaster has been into the front ends of these bikes more times than I so I defer final judgement to the pros.
