remove the plug from the switch short across the two terminals, and with the key on, the fan should come on, if everything else in the system is working. if the fan doesn't come on, you have another problem. let me know if i can help

Cyborg; Once I found t)synched the carbs while I was waiting for her to get hot enough to trip the fan. Just past the mid point I felt a nice breeze on the left side (sitting on bike). Looked down and WALLA the fan was running!!!! What a rush. One less thing to worry about. Now I notice gas and grease weeping from the fuel pump. I think I will try to replace it with an old 1200 electric pump from my 85 LTD and see it I can get it to work. Anyone had any success with this? Need to figure out how to mount and wire it up so it is not running all the time. Any help or schematics would be very helpful. Am currently having the same discussion on the Goldwing Doc site. Thanks Cyborg for your help.

The 85 LTD is fuel injected right? How much fuel pressure does that pump have? It may be way too much for carbs. You could add a regulator to it.

You r correct; it is a high pressure pump with banjo bolts. May have to ge one off a carbed 1200. Thanks

You can also get one from most any auto parts store. Aftermarket ones work well, just make sure the pressure is correct

Yeah, LTD fuel pumps have a 'little' too much pressure for carbs.
