Swap Meet -Dyna Exhaust

#1

Post by gary496 »

I couldn't believe it, a complete system for $15. Not a scratch.

Question; I have not taken apart the stock system yet. ( Which on a scale of 1-10 is a 9). from what i'm able to understand my header pipe is 1 3/4? Also the Dyna mufflers are not straight through, will these give me a little more sound? If my headers are 1 3/4 I will not have to buy anything more, cool, a new system for $15!

the only reason I'm changing the Exhaust is for 1. looks and 2. a little more sound. Oh, my GL 1000 is a "78".

any comments are appreciated, if any one has used the Dyna's.

roady has been running Sportster mufflers on his 1100 and it sounds amazing. I expect the Dyna to sound the same.

The Dyna Softail mufflers on my trike are loud enough for me to constantly be aware of them.

I put a set of pull-off HD mufflers on my 'Wing in '97 (well over 100,000Km ago). Every so often I think about stopping at the local aftermarket HD guy to see if he has something more interesting but then I get wondering how long these ones will last if I keep them...

They are loud enough that you know its a 'Wing but not so loud that they make your ears ring or you rattle windows. My neighbours tell me they sound much better than the Harley guy up the road's pipes do :-D
