For some reason I can't post new topics or reply to so using quote for now, but just tried your tip on one of my markland 1500 back rest rails...I'm impressed.

Looks good, I'll have to try vinegar and see if it works better than what I currently use on rusted chrome, which is Brasso metal polish and a wadded up piece of tin foil.

Tried it ....seemed to work OK .... but then I've never tried rubbing the bike before ....

The tinfoil trick also works great with.......... Coke. That's what I used.
