that was my thinking too...and that's how i got myself into this mess! lolol
iirc i paid $3,500 for both? one was running - one was not. the bike that was running turned out to have been crashed and became the parts bike and that was years ago

I have purchased four that ran & rode them home. of course they all needed "something" done to them; belts replaced obviously, or brakes, or fluids, et al.

I've paid as little as $100, and as much as $700 for non-runners.

IMHO, It all depends on what you're looking for, what you're willing to pay, & what you're expecting to get out of the deal.

is it obvious that non-runners should be less expensive than running & rideable bikes? because with some of the advertisements I've seen, it seems as if some sellers don't realize this. I've seen so many 1000s advertised as, "RARE" but from the description don't seem to be that special.

keep us updated.
sorta bulldogged custom 1978 GL1000 - "geekster"
full Vetter dress 1979 GL1000 - "Barge" (currently down)
1986 1200 Aspencade - "Heart of Gold" - daily rider
1990 1500 Aspencade - It's ALIVE! but very, very naked. not in a good way.
1978 for $100 - project in worx
1978 from a previous member here - taking up space
my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)
