You can get bar end mirrors in both types of mounts, wrap around the end of the handlebar and clamp, or the ones that slide into the end of the handlebar and clamp inside. Some even come with both ways to clamp, giving you the choice. Tons of styles to choose from. These are what I have currently.

It's all personal choice based on the rider and his position. For me, I want the mirrors close to my natural gaze and with my old-man, bad-back riding position, the mirrors need to be up above the bars some. For me bar ends would cause me to have to glance down and with my prescription glasses I might even have to move my head to see them.
Since cutting a bit more off my bars, mine just barely get a look past my shoulders, so I would like longer stems, but longer in the ability to reach wider.
I did find that having the master cylinders as close to level as you can and as snug to the grips as they will go, gains a little bit. I have tried bending the stems. The stock 77 round mirrors are bendable, but two other styles I tried resulted in them snapping off.

I thought I was going to like my bar setup but I have to admit the way they came from the factory was
pretty comfortable.
I'm not going back to that on this bike...it is what it is - a once in a while vintage sort of cafe runner....until some millennial buy it eventually..maybe.
Once I find some mirrors and put the finishing touches on it that is.
Sugs... What brand are those. I like those levers too!

but on topic, I like the long stems for usage but don't care for how they look on a cafe'd bike. I found some short stemmed mirrors locally that I like for both usage and looks. but I'm considering bar-ends for looks.

Not inexpensive but I like the flip back option.
The bars I have look like Sugs. I don't recall the bars having a plug in the end like the stock bars, but when I push on the end of the grips feels like it. I gonna poke it with a needle. Prob. just the hard rubber.
How would one remove those if needed?

Here are the ones Im running. They clamp on the end of the bar and allow me to use bar end turns signals. They can either be used by inserting in the end of the bar, or by clamping directly on the bar.
