Throttle cables, clutch cables, brake lines are specific to some years. Sometimes the ends are different. Trying to explain it to SaberCycle is a waste of time. Everything is what it says in "their" book. Maybe they've changed, but I won't mess with them anymore.
Any suggestions on where there's a good parts supplier?

Western Honda in AZ has good stock and good prices. For brake rebuild kits, George Fix on ebay is good -- lots of guys here have used him with good results. Randakk's for carb stuff. I got rubber brake lines from Sirius Consolidated -- others go with braided stainless from Randakk or others.
Your CDI boxes look better than mine did... I filled mine with black RTV and have ridden it for 3 seasons and 10k miles with no issues. As stated earlier, they look bad but take a beating and still work fine.
Good luck!

I've had good luck with Partzilla for OEM parts at very good prices and fast shipping...

Here is a site that has spark igniters. These are for a different Honda, but Honda likes to keep items the same between years and models (mostly). An email might help as well. http://www.procomeng.com/estore/feature ... 900-a.html

Here is another company: http://www.pazon.com/ignition-system/sp ... onda4.html

I've used Southwest Honda. One negative for them is they list everything but don't necessarily have it in stock. You don't find out until you call wondering where your stuff is. I now call and ask. For less expensive parts, their shipping is a bit steep.

In my experience, you have to shop a bit or pay a bit more.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Well it's been a little over a month since I first posted here. I've done a lot of work to the old Wing.
- New tires
- Volt guage
- Rebuilt all brake calipers
- New brakes
- Rebuilt both master cylinders.
- Rebuilt rear air shocks
- Swapped out all lighting to L.E.D. Lighting.
- Replaced the choke cable.
- Replaced the battery.
- Added some safety chrome.
- Removed the carbs, dipped in ultrasonic unit and rebuilt them. Synchronized after.
- Removed the engine and cleaned it up. Polished and buffed a lot of aluminum parts.
- For an added custom touch I designed and installed some new graphics on the faux tank.
- Added a windshield (tiny) and stainless steel headlight bib.
- The engine was flushed a number of times with sea foam, new oil and filters were changed as well.
- New handgrips added and handlebar weights.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. Although I have a GL1800 I've been using the GL1100 ever since I got it back in shape and just love the old thing. The riding season is just about over now so the last job I'll be doing are the valve stem oil seals. The ol guy smokes a bit when first started after all night but clears up fast. I have the parts on hand to do it.

As for SaberCycle. They must have picked up on their service. I placed about six orders with them and each and every order showed up fast (I'm in Canada) and all items were right for the bike. Up here it's tough finding parts for these old gems but I did manage to get some from my Honds dealer so that was cool

I figured I'd come back and let you know how things turned out so far. Oh. I also found a NOS 1980 engine guard set still in box with all hardware and instructions that I'll be installing as soon as it arrives. I'll remove the aftermarket crash bar then.

Thanks for your help guys. Here's a few photos. One is of the bike when I first got it a month ago. The rest is resent.
