I got the Dyna in, I can't wait to get it all back together and try it out, except I'm retired and can do it tomorrow.

It took a little thinking to get it timed but on the second try it went right. It's almost already running when I reach for the start button. Lately it's been cranking a few turns before it fires and is sensitive to choke position. Tonight, it fired up at the touch of the button. No choke, but it was inside with the doors open. I could probably open the plug gaps a little now.

I rode it tonight and the exhaust was horrible smelling and it was smoking badly with white smoke. I assumed head gasket. Before returning home I topped off the gas and there was a large amount of pressure in the tank. Big whoosh when I removed the cap. I gassed it up and rode 15 miles, no smoke, no pressure and it ran fine.
I do have a new fuel pump ordered already, I'm assuming the fuel pump check valve was hanging up and allowing pressure back into the tank. Apparently the gas cap only vents inward.

I did check fuel flow Saturday, it looks the same with the engine running as it did draining by gravity. It would make 2 lbs but flow appeared minimal. I had a container to fill but didn't continue as it was very meager after 20 seconda or so.

The Dyna's in and the miss is even more evident, choke makes it better so out come the carbs again. I also got a new fuel pump just because it seemed like a good idea on a bike this old.

Clean your tank?
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Yes, then I ran about 15 tanks of fuel through with 2 filters and a magnet attached to the first one. They are staying very clean now. Reserve works nicely and it does seem to pull fuel all the way to the bottom indicating the pickup tubes are intact.
