77 GL1000 Components

Post by rocks »

What is the role of the Resistor and diodes? I am not talking about the ballast resistor that is with the coils.
I am hoping to bypass those on my next rewiring project.
From the resistor
wire runs to brake switches , to the headlight switch and headlight, one wire to reserve light(which I am bypassing), and the red wire from the diode that confuses me. Is it mainly for the headlight to turn off while cranking the engine?
How about the diodes, could it be bypassed?

I appreciate any input

I have no idea but I'm pretty sure that the guys, who can help you, require a lot more specific information than diode and resistor. Maybe put up a wiring diagram with little circles and arrows pointing to the components of which you are referring.

There are a couple of functions. Part of it is the headlight cut out part of it is the clutch/ neutral safety interlock.

Alice's, good reference.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.
