'76 carb setup question

#1

Post by Hal »

Hi guys, the restored '76 carbs I sold recently (fully restored with Randakk kit, including idle air control valve, off-idle mod done) the buyer has now mounted them and has just asked me what's the "richness control setting for these carbs?"

I can't find my Haynes manual.....and I do not recall how they are meant to be set up!

All I know for a fact is that they were set up perfectly for my 1976 engine and it ran spot-on.

Any ideas? This guy clearly hasn't a manual either.....but he has managed to fit the carbs so not a complete clot.

so....probably best use Tipp-Ex in future?"

Thanks guys, info passed on, though he now says he reckons the carbs were perfect and he definitely has a problem with either coils or plugs/HT leads. Swapped over from one side to another when he changed position of leads.

He seems to be pretty competent.
