Tire manufacturers use the disclaimer to follow motorcycle manufacturer's recommendations because their tires can be installed on so many different motorcycles. They have no way of knowing what the best inflation should be in each case.

Another thought on tires and tire pressures is that the owner's manual is for a bike that is new right off the assembly line. After years of use, unless the bike is brought back to an as new condition such as a suspension upgrade or renewed with OEM parts, bearings, fork rebuilt, etc, OEM recommendations in the owner's manual become less effective regarding this issue.
I think of going into a tire shop for new tires, and if the tires exhibit a specific wear pattern, the tire shop can probably tell you why and that unless you renew the parts that cause this wear pattern, you will have the same issue again.
Just a thought.

This says a lot and I agree 100%.
I also think that the tire manufacturer says to follow the motorcycle manufacturer's advice, because the tire company's lawyers would rather not take all the responsibility if anything bad happens.
