Grey Gunk in the radiator

Still sorting and fixing teathing issues with "Goldie the Dumpster Gal". Went for a 175 mile run Saturday in advance of the trip to Luckenbach this weekend. Ran great except for a plugged fuel filter at about mile 150. Know the cause of that, but also found a bit of grey gooey stuff at the neck of the radiator filler. Looked a bit like some kind of stop leak or something --which I do not use!! Ever.

Sorry I didn't get a photo but any ideas? Could oil in the water cause this? Otherwise the coolant looked fine. (50/50 yellow Prestone )

I would bet on stop leak. Oil and water don't mix.

Sounds like it could also be Dexcool grunge too.

+1 on Dexcool gunk. Sop it up with a paper towel. Eventually it will all come out.
