Just so we're not comparing apples and oranges, take a look at the linked list of images for flyscreens:

The OP stated that he wanted reduced wind pressure on his chest, I doubt those things the size of a salad plate will reduce much.

I agree that a fairing like that on BikeMaine's 1100 will definitely give more protection than a flyscreen. That said, not everyone appreciates the cruiser look. I had a National Cycle Street Shield on my '76. It's a little larger than a typical flyscreen, so gives more protection, but has a similar look. It also was designed to be quickly removed when not needed. Might be a good compromise? Here is a picture from a weekend ride.

If you install a windshield on a Goldwing, is it still "naked" ?

Personally, I'd feel pretty confident in calling that fine machine above "naked". And practical.

I use a Memphis Shades Hellcat. Get's the blast off the chest and with the right angle,
minimizes burble on the head. My head is actually in the wind stream but the turbulence is down around my neck so they helmet doesn't jostle around. Great for 3 seasons of riding. I've got a bigger shield for winter.

I have a National Cycle screen. 19" wide I believe. Works great on my 6' 3" frame
