GL1000 - replacement starter button
Hi all - starter button is not passing 12V down to the solenoid; any good replacement or repair possibilities?..thxs kenai

I would disassemble and clean. You could increase the likelihood of it working for a long time by putting a relay in the circuit.

If memory serves me the 12v is provided from the main fuse and the button only grounds the solenoid connection via the run/stop switch. I could be wrong. But check the wiring diagram to be sure which does which.

ok I was wrong. The start magnetic switch (solenoid) is grounded through the run/stop switch and the power is provided from the push button start switch via the ignition switch.
