I am in the process of taking the heads off, and the bolt on the cam pulley is tight!
Are there any tips on securing the pulley while loosening the bolt?
I don't want to tear anything up, which sometimes I seem to have the ability to do...
Thanks again
Mike

The torque on that bolt isn't too much, so if you have the head off and no opportunity to loosen the bolts while the heads are still on the motor then I would use a rubber strap wrench. The type designed to hold oil filters etc; I use this style quite often to hold a variety of round objects that need to have centre bolts removed. Ideal for your issue or clutch housings, or alternator rotors etc.

Or just use the old belt...flyin900 wrote:The torque on that bolt isn't too much, so if you have the head off and no opportunity to loosen the bolts while the heads are still on the motor then I would use a rubber strap wrench. Re: Cam Pulley Removal
You can also put a bolt in the holes for the belt cover. Belt would be safest in case the belt cover bolt breaks off in the head, however I have done it many times that way.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.
