GL1100 to GL1000 frame

Hi All I have a complete gl1100, but the frame is shot, too much rust and holes, my question is will the motor, swingarm, front end and everything else fit a GL1000 frame, i,e bolt on and go i only ask as money is short many thanks in advance

Short answer is no. The only thing that will bolt on is the front end.

The longer answer is, with a bit of modification to the 1000 frame, namely a brace that is behind the engine, then the engine will drop in. At that point, it will bolt up.

Then provided that the 1000 still has wiring, you have to play with the wiring a bit to get the 1100 ignition to work. If no wiring, then the 1100 stuff might fit with a little modification.

Moving on to the rear of the bike, an 1100 swingarm can be made to fit, but it is not plug and play. Fairly extensive mods occur to make it work.
