oil pumps

#1

Post by gdonlo04 »

i searched the tech blog for oil pump topics. after 3 pages of water pump and air pump . i decided to ask this question.
i have two spare oil pumps that i don't know what year engine they came from. they were not labeled when i got them . is there a diff between the size/flow of the oil pumps in the 75-78 gl 1000 ?

I do not recall anything off the top of my head. To be sure I would look up a 75 in a parts microfiche and compare the part number of a the pump to a 78. There were some minor changes in the oil distribution system over the years so it is possible that the pump was modified to accommodate those.
