clutch cable question

symptoms.. with clutch lever pulled in, when I put it in gear the bike surges ahead like the clutch is engaged a bit.
I have the cable adjusted on the bottom adjustment almost all the way out.
I'm thinking the cable may be stretched if it's oem.
Now for the question..are the cables for a standard and aspencade the same?
According to the motion pro site my cable is part # 02-0172.
If I look that cable up on fortnine..it says it doesn't fit my bike.

Does the throw out adjustment for the 1000 apply to 1100's also???
Next questions are does it happen all day long or just the first engagement of the day? And obviously what oil are you running

The 1100's are different than the 1000's, and IIRC, the '82 doesn't even have adjustment for the pin. All the adjustment is at the cable ends. According to Partzilla.com website, all the '82 models use the same cable.

It happens every time regardless of how long I've been riding. I'm running 15/40 rotella but it did it from the day I bought it.
A cable is under $20. I'll replace it and see what that does.
