78 GL1000 Rear Wheel

#1

Post by EdK »

HI,
I'm having a hard time finding a straight stock comstar rim for the rear. I've been reading up on Lester wheels but I don't have any experience with them. Can I run a 16" rear Lester with my stock comstar front? The Lester fronts seem to be harder to find. From what I understand the rear Lester bolts right in?

Thanks,
Ed

I've been told that it's a real pain to get the wheel on.

You basically have to remove the rotor to do so.

Most switch out the bolts to allen head to make that easier.

Lester fits fine, you do want to loosen the nuts holding the rotor while installing it. I run one. If you need a wheel, I have both comstars and Lesters for the rear. PM me if interested.

Yea the wheel fits easy but getting the caliper on the disc can be a bugger. Yes you can run the combination. I have that setup on my 75. 78 front end with a comstar and 16 inch lester on the back. the other advantage of the 16 inch lester is you can go to a wider tire on the back.
