Hi all,
Quick question about the carb idle screw adjustment. About to put the rebuilt carbs back on my 84 GL1200 standard. I probably should have checked this before hand. But how wide open should the throttle valves be for a good idle and first start up (how far in should I turn the idle screw in). Not the 4 fuel mixture screws - i know those are 3 turns out
Open enough to put a small drill bit in? closed all the way?
Question about carb idle adjustment

Re: Question about carb idle adjustment
Someplace in between. Better to have it too low than too high to start out. Back the screw out until it no longer touches the arm. Then turn it in maybe 2 turns. Start the bike and go from there. Not all bikes are the same so there is no "set" place to start.
