Correct. What I meant was, you don't have to completely remove a cam to replace the seal. However, the aforementioned bump can be an issue, and I think that's what damaged my first replacement seal. I picked up a new one from the dealer today, and will likely pull the cam to install it just to be extra sure I don't muck it up. 15 bucks isn't much, but it's a hassle to take it all apart again since I won't know if it leaks until it's all together and I ride it.....

The seals for the valve covers and cam came today. I should be able to get them in this weekend. I really appreciate everyone's input. I will post the results.
