83 with rattle

Post by maury »

Just picked up and everything seems fine. 43,000 miles. Idles well, goes through gears fine. BUT - when engage 1st gear and begin to release clutch, knocking and rattling very obvious. Once moving, all is well. Also noted same vibration/noise when lugging the engine in too high a gear. Clutch??

Nope, you are used to a 1000 going by your sig line. The 1100 is easy to lug from a stop if you aren't careful. I do it all the time when working on one. Give it a few more revs and it should be fine.

Note; DO NOT LUG THE ENGINE. ;)
