82 clutch push rod.
the engine im going to install is an 82. it was partially disassembled when i got it. The 81 I'm removing has a different style clutch cover and actuator along with a push rod which is NLA. The parts diagram doesn't show a pushrod on the 82. was the pushrod deleted when the cover and actuator redesigned. I'm sure there is more than a few 82 owners who have worked on a clutch who would have some insight.

Re: 82 clutch push rod.
After doing a lot of searching I have found a lot of conflicting info for the 82. Some list a pushrod like the 80-81 yet others look like the 83 set up. I finally found a listing for 82 that shows it used both styles of setup/cover. Apparently at some point in 82 they switched to the new style found on the 83 which omits the pushrod and uses a plunger. The cover I have is the latter type so it seems I'm not missing a pushrod
