Anyone use one of these Apex APX24HL-BS-IGEL batteries? Found them at https://www.apexbattery.com/honda-gl100 ... -1977.html for $44.88. Just curious if someone knows if they are any good or not. They look pretty-haha Have a built in battery tester.

I only use AGM batteries in my bikes. No experience with Apex but AGMs are the only way to go.

According to the website, these are AGM batteries.
"The 1977 Honda GL1000 Gold Wing Motorcycle Battery is a premium high-quality rechargeable Super Maintenance-Free Sealed Lead Acid Absorbed Glass Mat (SLA/AGM) battery designed by Apex Battery in the USA and manufactured to meet and exceed any OEM specs and performance at factory-direct prices."

hey, for that price ya really can't go too far wrong.

I've spent as much as 3 times that on a LiFePo4 battery. but they're now starting to come down a bit in price and I've seen 'em for $99. and for the CCA they have, they're worth it to me.

keep us posted if you try one of these APEX batteries.

1978 for $100 - project in worx
1978 from a previous member here - taking up space
my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)

Most times you get what you pay for.

How do they produce, sell a battery and make a profit at that price?

I looked at the page and saw that they are on sale, $30 off.

Trying to delete stock?

I posed that question to an on-line chat customer care person at Apex. Here is the conversation.

Actually, is this YTX24HL-BS Battery an old stock item? A member in our GoldWing club is considering purchasing one, but we are wondering why this AGM battery has been price reduced by $30.

Elenayeah we've the lowest price in the market

We also have a 1 year warranty on all our batteries since they are brand new

Anyway...She then offered to take an order via telephone call, but I don't need one right now.

But she didn't answer your question.

True they are probably the lowest price but why?

$30 off their regular prices is quite a reduction.

Someone needs to throw some money at this, do a long term test, and report back. Everything else is speculation

You guys do realize that the "chats" are AI bots? You aren't talking to a real person which explains why questions are not really answered.
