I did motor oil carefully heated on a hot plate with a HF non-contact thermometer gun for reference.
I had three switches removed at the time & only two worked.

I tested the way Hamster did but with a submersible thermometer. But honestly it's such a hassle to set up that I'd opt for a Beck/Arnley replacement. You can get one for $15 online and once you've cleaned up the installation with a matching connector and a relay, you probably won't have to mess with it again. I described all this here: https://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic ... ch#p714582
I've been running this setup for a while now and I'm content with its function.

I followed Terry's lead and have essentially the same set-up on my 1100 Interstate. I've had a few instances where the fan will turn on and run continuously, but it seems to solve itself before I ever get around to look at it. I'd use it again...

Link?

The only ones I could find on eBay for that kind of price when I wanted one were made for Suzukis and switched at 85c instead of 95c

OK, as of today I really do need that link because mine failed about 75 Km from home today. Fortunately I have a parade switch so I was able to get home without any drama but I want to replace it ASAP.

Never mind. I found it by looking for the GL1100 fan switch instead of 18mm fan switch.
