Good morning, thanks in advance for humoring my newbie question.
I have a 1975 GL1000 that is running Comstar wheels. From doing some research that it appears those could be from a last in the series GL1000 still or from the GL1100 series. I believe the last in the series GL1000 would still have tubes but the GL1100 would not? Is there a visual difference on the brakes or forks or rims that would let me figure out exactly what I have?
Hope everyone is having a good week, thanks in advance for the help.
How determine what year front forks are from?

the silver comstars were from 78-79
I believe the spacing is different for the caliper bolts on the 75-77.
the diameter must be the same or they wouldn't fit in the triple tree.

Thanks Pony, correct to say that the GL1100 had different diameter fork tubes?

Yes. I can't remember the #'s but the 1100's are different.

Those do look like '78-79 rims. Some people ran them tubeless, even though they were not supposed to be. And, some ran the tubeless rims later on with tubes.

You have a 78 comstar. Forks are 37mm vs 39mm for the 1100.

You also have 78-79 forks or at least the later sliders, fender and brakes. Brake discs are 78
