Hello everyone, I am a new member and new 84 gl1200 naked owner. I am looking to mount some highway pegs to the crash bars/engine protectors. I don't have a caliper, can someone help me with the bar diameter? Also, are the handlebars 1 7/8"?
I searched but couldn't find an answer, maybe I just suck at searching.
Thanks.

Re: Crash bar diameter
Handlebars are 7/8 .... crash guards vary but most are 1” .... and most highway pegs are forgiving on diameter ....

Re: Crash bar diameter
Just a thought on crash bars, yours apparently are already installed so this isn't likely to apply. I have seen more frames crushed from over tightening the U-clamps than ones that are still undamaged. The bike I am currently working on has serious indentations in the front down tubes.

Re: Crash bar diameter
Thanks for the heads up and the info. Yes my bike came to me as is in the pictures. I did find a nice set of pegs and installed them.Easter wrote:Just a thought on crash bars, yours apparently are already installed so this isn't likely to apply.
