head gasket
Is the head gasket that z1 enterprise sell as good as oem? Their site states they are made in Japan so I don't know. Z1 offers a top end set for about 85 bucks and the local dealer is $59 for just 1 gasket alone.

Re: head gasket
Can't answer that question on Z1 and many on the forum like OEM. Personally I have always used aftermarket and I have my machine shop fellow deck the head when he does the valves. I clean the deck on the engine with diamond grit flat files to ensure it is good to go too.
Never had a failure on any replacement aftermarket head gasket. So my take on this job is it's just like painting; it's all in the prep work.
Made in Japan is a good thing too for the kit your looking at presently.

Re: head gasket
Gonna be one of the advocates for OEM. I went aftermarket on my first head gasket install, and both blew within a week. Maybe it was my fault, maybe it was bad gaskets- who knows. But I replaced with OEM and never had another problem.
Think of it as an investment- do it right the first time, and you shouldn't have to re-do it again any time soon.

Re: head gasket
Western Honda was $41 last I bought but they are no longer like OEM. They are just impregnated paper gaskets with steel fire rings. I haven’t seen any like they used to be made. Flat heads, flat block, clean threads in the block, grease under the washers and bolt head and proper torque and they should be good.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: head gasket
So I went to Randakk's site and he sells the same top end kit as Z1 Enterprise so I went with it.
Thanks for the replies.

You do know both companies are owned by the same entity. Along with two other companies.

Re: head gasket
Yes I know but WF has spoken highly of Z1 in the past and the kit was on Randakk's site as well as Z1 so that gave me more confidence. Thanks
