solving clutch chatter in early gl1000

from serial #1000001-1011239 these early clutches had a damper plate installed near one end or the other of the clutch plate sequence...

the cure is to relocate the damper plate to the centre of the assembly......

safe riding.....................all ;)

Absolutely correct bandanna.I had that problem a couple of years back ,clutch chatter , clutch grabbing at a stand still while in gear. Could never select neutral while bike was running ,No matter how i adjusted the clutch it was never any good . I pulled clutch and located damper plate to the middle and it fixed the problem ,it's now and has been a pleasure to ride ever since.

PS. The damper plate in question is a thicker plate than the rest so is quite easy to pick from the rest .

Cheer's Alan.

Thanks again brothers . :)
