Lester valve stem
About to stick a 16" Lester on the back of my '75. Stem hole is 5/8" diameter. Alloy is thick. Source for a valve stem anyone?

We where mounting the same wheel a couple of years ago in Cleveland. After searching both auto parts stores and motorcycle shops for the big valve. We just put a tube in her..................

Re: Lester valve stem
I can not seem to find the source for the ones I ordered years ago but these are rated for a .625 hole https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cal-711957?rrec=true
Seems like most rated for the .625 hole are associated with truck rims
Make sure to stay away from the aluminum ones. Have read too many reports of the threads stripping out on those. Brass, steel or SS is what I would use.

Re: Lester valve stem
Thanks Whisker. It occurred to me to stop at Discount Tire when I go by there tomorrow. If they don't have one, I'll go for the one you found.

Re: Lester valve stem
Hi Terry,
Do you by chance have an update on the Oreiley’s valve stems you found - in terms of fit & finish & and proper sealing? Also, do you happen to have the brand/part #?
Thanks,
Rocky

Re: Lester valve stem
Rocky - here's the stems I got. The fit is good. Material is nickel plated brass. I don't have a tire on yet so I can't speak to how well it seals but it certainly looks like it will. My only concern is the rubber. I've had Rubber items from China go bad quickly in the past and this valve is made in China.

Re: Lester valve stem
As an update: Put a new Dunlop American Elite on the Lester. Been on a week or so and there's no problems with the stem.
