Although I haven't utilized my Carbtune yet, I would orient the cylinder sychronizer hose connections L to R order 4,2,1,3.
That's my personal preference.

Will do on the Carbtune!
As to the pump, in the manual they have a tee in line for the pump test. But, I suppose, as long as the test is quick it''ll be no problem as you described Cliff?

I have tested my trike twice since I built it. 9 years ago. No issues either time.

FIRST THING ! SHUT THE OFF/ RUN/OFF switch OFF! No sparks.

To test fuel pump pressure, proceed as I had advised the process.
Volume. Stick an outlet side hose from the fuel pump into a measuring cup and crank it over.
Easy peasy.

It's your call. :)

Quick update.

Fuel pump is good. I swapped out the whole carb rack for another rebuilt 771A rack. Same problem. 2 and 4 seem not to be providing power. I rode it up and down the driveway a couple passes, no more than 2nd gear. While riding, I blew the new fuse to the Dyna, so there's that...

Guess I'll pull the plugs in 2 and 4 and triple check the gap is good.

If I hadn't observed the running vacuum display numbers on your Carbtune photo you posted a couple of weeks ago , I would ask you to check the compression test readings on #2 and 4 cylinders, again, after rechecking the valve lash clearances.
(On 2cd thought, set all valves at 0.006" this time and then compression test all 4 cylinders again. Humor me.) ;)

This engine is the same one you had asked for opinions regarding the atypical appearance of the valve train components after the removal of both rocker arms covers? Correct?

Check the red wires under the ignition cover. They may have been chafed through their insulation by contact with the spinning Dyna rotor while the engine is running. Not actually touching here. The camera angle makes it look like it is, though.

:oldies Yawjansen!

I remembered you had mentioned a worry about burning the coils out in your first post. Dyna coils?

snipped from your post#5
"Only real concern here is the extended amount of time I had them operating/hot while trying to set points, this was prior to me just installing the Dayna." :-?

Have you actually checked for spark potential at the #2 and 4 cylinders lately? Yes? No?

also snipped from your post#49
"I swapped out the whole carb rack for another rebuilt 771A rack. Same problem. 2 and 4 seem not to be providing power."

Which spout orientation on either Dyna coil leads to the #2 cylinder , and the #4 cylinder?
let's call them Top or Bottom spark plug wire outlet spout orientation on the typically mounted Dyna coils.

A photo of my trike's Dyna coils install and spark plug wires' routing paths.

Snipped from your #1 post

'Not to post as long as a book so a quick rundown. '79 GL100, barn find, 160 average compression, valves checked and set, carbs rebuild via Randakk, Idle set at 2.5 turns out, bench synced, Dayna ignition installed, Dayna DC3-1 coils in, new spark plugs and fresh battery, non ethanol fule, fresh timing belt.'

Which one?
Also need to know...
Were the Dyna ignition system and Dyna DC3-1 coils, brand new unused parts?
New Sparkplug wires and caps?

Yes, a dual outlet ignition coil can fail on one leg, and the other leg will still provide spark. I accidently overheated 2 Dyna ignition coils on my trike with a brief gasoline fire in the stock air filter housing that directed hot combustion gases out the snorkel onto both Dyna ignition coils. Even though there was no external indication they had been exposed to unusually high temperatures, one of them almost immediately failed on the lowest installed position outlet.
The other ignition coil's lowest installed position outlet lasted maybe another 2 hours before it failed, too.
When you study my engine's individual spark plug wires routing from their coil outlet to the spark plug, itself, cylinders #1 and #3 were operationally dead and the engine was running on cylinders #2 and #4, only.

I've run out of questions now. Done.
