Fogey, great link ! The only thing I would add is that once things are clean is that I believe that Keihin puts the slots in the emulsion tube so that you could use a screwdriver to EASILY turn the tube to orient the slots, no forcing it. My opinion !

Be sure to clean i.e. sand and flux all brass. Do the same as if you were doing copper plumbing. Good luck.

Thanks Terry, I finished cleaning the parts and will make sure to sand and flux all the brass. The only brass sheet I could find is .016 , which is only slightly thicker. You think that will be ok?

Thanks for Old Fogeys linkRedglbx! I wish I saw that before I bent it, lol. I actually pushed them out the first time I rebuilt the carbs but like the article says they look like the end of the jets so I wasn’t thinking and tried unscrewing one, lol. You said something about the slot being there to help orient the tub. I didn’t realize the had to be positioned a certain way? Can you give more info on the specific orientation?

Sounds a bit thin. Hobby shops have different gauges. I just eyeballed it. I'm a long way from home right now but if you can wait til I get home I could send you some. Might be 2 weeks.

Hey Terry, Thanks, I really appreciate the offer. I have another hobby shop I can hit first. If I can’t find any, I’ll let you know.

I discovered another contributing factor in why my bike was not running right when I was cleaning the carb parts. One of the vacuum chamber plastic caps has a hairline crack in it that is letting air out. Can anyone recommend the best epoxy to repair it?

You might get away with using epoxy but the permanent fix is freeze plugs

How do you attach the new buttons? I have the impression that the edges of the opening were rolled over after the original buttons were installed to hold them in...

Hi Old Fogey, Are you selling any of the buttons that you have? If so, like sidecar bob how do you install them? Ideally I’d like mine to look original.

Track T 2411 - Do you know if cfairweather still does the caps and if so what would it cost?
