Best source for specs

Post by Celtic Modifier »

As you will notice, I am brand new to the forum and I am brand new to Goldwings. I am so looking forward to modding this 81 GL1100 we just picked up for my best friend and then looking for my own thereafter. For my own records and fabrication processes I always look for or build a quick reference chart for certain specs on not just the model I’m working on but also surrounding similar models. Specifically This time I am wanting to know what the upper fork diameters of the 81 1100 is so i can possible mount a National Cycle cruiser windshield to the bike, and I don’t mind measuring myself; but if one already exists id like to have a quick reference sheet with that info on it. Anyone know of one?
Working on: 1982 Honda GL1100

I suggest a handlebar mount windshield rather than a fork mount as the upper forks are usually reserved for mounting the headlight bucket. You will likely find most fork mount shields are not recommended as fitting a goldwing.
