Belts came in yesterday. This weekend I'll put her together, and next week it's the license.

I will go some rides in on her this year!

Belts are on. I've been running under and down the road like a kid on a carnival ride. Carbs are close. Need to get some more fresh gas in it. I'll go once and it'll run perfect, and the next run it'll have a rough patch through the middle. I'll get her straight. Next week it's a trip to the license agency. I'm in love with Janis.

Been putting miles on. She still pretty moody. I live out in the country, been going a few miles one way and back a few the other. I don't see cops out here much, but put me on a bike that doesn't have any tags on it, and there they are. I haven't got stopped yet, but I think I've pushed my luck far enough. Twice I've had to ride past, and twice they never even looked my way. Something else that's scary is tires that have been sitting more than ten years. They don't like curves or brakes. Simon and Garfunkel wrote a song about the very thing ive been doing. It's called Slip sliding away.

Yepper, I’ve owned my red 76 since new, it’s been a problematic beast over the years but as stated above they are addictive. Mine calls to me regularly, there’s just something about them. They are far from the fastest bike I own (my daily ride is a 2014 fjr,) that will probably be sold due to it’s weight and my recent back surgery.

The Wing is just so much easier to ride because of its low Cg and about 150lbs lighter. They are a joy, with a satisfying amount of grunt.

Anyway, one thing I haven’t heard you talk about is a carb sync, if you haven’t done this yet you need to, it’ll Make a noticeable difference in how your bike runs. Highly recommended!

Mid range issues are often just the CV slides sticking a bit. A temp fix may be to add some MMO to the tank each time you fill it up.

I synced the carbs with a gauge. First individually, then together. I put some additive in that's supposed to have a lubricant in it, but I think MMO would work better. It always does. I believe it to be the slides also. Sometimes it's in the middle, and sometimes it's on the top starting at about 4500 rpm. I think on my way home I pick up a big bottle. Even if it doesn't work I'll be getting some benefits from it.

She still got some crud in the tank I'm trying to work through.

Lubing the slides isn't really going to help if there is crud interfering.

Added some Marvel. Worked almost instantly. The crud in the tank isn't bad enough to go through pulling the it. A couple of tanks of treated fuel and it will be gone. Right now I'm running two filters. I've had to clean the leading one once so far.
