If you only need it occasionally for starting when it is punishing you for neglecting it too long it seems to me that a primer bulb would be the easiest solution

I'm going to give some thought to the primer bulb suggestion. If you’ll keep the tank topped off the fuel will gravity feed to the carbs. Turn the gas on and let it set for a few minutes and it should start right up.
