1976 GL 1000 Timing Belts

#1

Post by Major Domo »

New to the site. Just acquired a '76 GL with 22K miles, and want to replace the timing belts. Did Honda make a change in the '78/79 belt (part number is different) or will they fit the '75/76 also? The price difference between the years is considerable. with the '78/79 belts being quite bit cheaper. Thank in advance!

gltriker: I'm looking at several sites to purchase. Amazon has a good price for Gates T274 @ $22.37/ea, shipping included, which works out to be the same as Rock Auto, once they add shipping charge. Thanks for all the replies, and yes, that'll be the first thing I do on the bike is to change the belts.
